Partners Coffee: Burundi – Gahahe

Our final Burundian coffee of the season comes from Gahahe, a fantastic washing station in the red clay hills of Kayanza Province. This fully washed lot is an excellent rendering of flavors we’ve come to love in East Africa. Look for a warm and complex cup with immaculate clarity and layered sweetness; we taste cranberry, golden raisin, dried fig, honey, brown sugar, orange peel, and lovely, subtle florals.

Our first arrival of Ethiopia’s fresh harvest, this honey process is as clean as any washed coffee with softly rounded stone fruit and citrus notes (sweet lime) along with an undertone of green tea-like jasmine.
Presta Coffee Roasters: Peru – Gilmer Cordova – Finca Ecologica – Huabal – Gesha

Grown by Gilmer Mejia Cordova at Finca Ecológica Agua Colorada in Cajamarca, Peru, this Gesha showcases the region’s high elevations, fertile soils, and organic farming practices. Hand-picked and traditionally washed, it highlights the variety’s elegant floral aromatics, bright acidity, and refined sweetness. A Gesha from this farm placed 6th in Peru’s 2017 Cup of Excellence.

Elefante has quickly become one of our favorite coffees to source. The washed process relationship coffee features tropical fruit notes.
The Rodriguez family at Finca Nejapa in Apaneca, El Salvador, is longtime friends with our wholesale manager, Gunnhild. It’s been meaningful for her and a joy for the rest of our team to get to know the Rodriguez family and share their amazing coffees with our customers.

Besides the novelty of this process for the region, Java Garut offers a complex cup, with flavors of passion fruit, kiwi, papaya, and sugarcane.This lot comes from a collection of small farmers in Garut Regency, West Java, and coffee varietals include Catimor and Typica — grown in volcanic loam soil at an altitude of around 4,000 feet.
PERC: Super Power Plum
