California: it’s not all Chardonnay and Merlot, you know.

On Saturday, July 22nd the noted Healdsburg, CA wine bar Bergamot Alley have put together one holy hell of a New California wine event. It’s called Seven % Solution, now in its fifth year celebrating California’s vinous multiplicity, featuring an astonishing 121 individual wines by 31 different wineries, exhibiting more than 50 unique grape varieties from the Golden State.

The event itself takes place at the bucolic Front Porch Farms Bergamot Alley, and the participating list of winemakers is a murderers’ row of California wine worth drinking, including but not limited to Arnot RobertsDirty & RowdyDonkey & GoatForlorn HopeHarringtonJolie-LaideLa Clarine FarmMatthiassonRuth LewandowskiWind Gap, and many more.

Tickets cost $65 USD with proceeds benefitting Corazon Healdsburg, a “non-profit dedicated to bridging the racial and economic division” in Sonoma County.

There’s also a highly attractive slate of winemaker dinners happening the evening before this event, on Friday, July 21st, featuring collaborations between event winemakers and some of Sonoma County’s best restaurants. Would that it were so simple, I’d surely attempt to attend the SHED x Donkey & Goat/La Clarine event, the dinner collab betwixt Valette and Forlorn Hope, and the Ruth Lewandowski dinner at Chalkboard. Each of those dinners are in Healdsburg proper; bonus hedonism points for those attempting multiple seatings in a single night.

Much more information, including RSVP for trade tastings, is available via the official Seven % Solution website.
