Ready To Drink is ready to go in 2025, and we’re kicking off this year’s edition of the feature series with a look at the new Ready-To-Go Espresso from SoCal specialty favorites Klatch Coffee. This tasty eight-ounce RTD is built from scratch by Klatch, and offers a tasty espresso-like option for spro on the go. This interview has been gently edited and condensed. 

Tell us a bit about the coffee!

The blend of beans we’ve used for Ready-to-Go Espresso is different from any of our current espresso offerings. However, if you enjoy other Klatch espressos like WBC or House, you’ll likely enjoy Ready-to-Go Espresso as well! It features hints of chocolate, orange, and vanilla that work wonderfully in both hot and cold drinks.

How long have you been working on this project?

Ready to drink/ready to use products (including refrigerated cold brew and others) have been tested and discussed for many years at Klatch Coffee. For Ready-To-Go Espresso specifically, development took about one year to bring to market once the trigger was pulled. We’ve tested and discarded as unsatisfactory several concepts that didn’t make the cut, including bottled cold brew, cold brew in a flask, and other concepts.

Do you have future RTD products in development?

Nothing firm to share at this time, but we are constantly testing and developing new coffees, meeting new producers, and looking for new ways to share our passion for specialty coffee. We continue to experiment and iterate: Ready-To-Go Espresso is the first that met our standards for flavor and quality.

Final thoughts on the RTD category?

Younger people are increasingly looking for alternative beverage options. Alcohol consumption is in decline, as well as soda. New and growing categories include mocktails, sparkling waters… and of course Klatch is delighted by the growing interest in specialty coffee in ready-to-drink / ready-to-use formats. We feel it’s a perfect entry point for those who may not be ready to invest in an espresso machine at home, but still want to enjoy cafe-quality beverages. More sophisticated coffee consumers who do own their own specialized equipment will also value the convenience on some days, while choosing to brew their own Klatch Coffee on other days as time permits. We’re delighted to be able to offer them that choice.
