It’s Friday, the end of the work week for some, and maybe you are looking to spend a night in. (Gotta save up that going out gumption for Saturday, y’know?) Why not kick those feet up and fire up the ole boob tube to see what’s on? If that’s you, tonight you may want to click it over to ABC around 7:00 pm central time and check out the latest episode of Shark Tank, which will feature none other than Margaret Nyamumbo of Kahawa 1893.

In the one-minute preview posted online, Nyamumbo can be seen pitching sharks Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, and Mark Cuban on her direct trade Kenyan coffee roasting company, seeking as a starting offer $350,000 for a 5% stake in Kahawa 1893.
Listen to our interview with Margaret Nyamumbo on the Seed to Cup podcast:
Nyamumbo and Kahawa 1893 join a number of other coffee companies that have sought financial backing via the television show. Coffee subscription service Misto Box successfully pitched Mark Cuban all the way back in 2013. In 2017, Third Wave Water struck a deal with Barbara Corcoran for $100,000. Then in 2021, Copper Cow, the makers of Vietnamese pour-over coffee packets, got buy-in from Robert Herjavec.
Will Kahawa 1893 join the ranks of these coffee companies that got their hands on a little shark money? The only way to find out is to tune into ABC tonight at 7:00 pm for the latest episode of Shark Tank.
