The eyes of the specialty coffee world turn to Milan this week for HOST, an every-two-year trade show that’s one of the world’s biggest for coffee equipment manufcaturers. This year HOST will also host the 25th annual World Barista Championship—watch for Sprudge coverage in the coming days. But today we’re paying special attention to an event happening on Saturday, October 18th, when La Marzocco brings their Out of the Box event series back to Milan.
Taking place at Super Studio Più in the heart of Milan, the theme of this Out of the Box is “Roots & Wings” and will feature a variety of demos, tastings, talks, and hands-on activities. It’s an all-day immersive experience, and a deep dive into the world of La Marzocco, with programming and hands-on demos (and of course delicious coffee) from all around the globe.
This year’s line-up of speakers and activations is stacked, with something happening for every kind of coffee lover. Look for craftsmanship showcases and design collaborations from brands like Porsche, Nuova Ricambi, NEIT Whisky and Victorinox.
At Out of the Box Milan you can also explore eye-catching new gear from La Marzocco home including collaborations with Aimé Leon Dore, Rimowa, and the new Officine Fratelli Bambi Strada. Speakers include guests from the FAO, World Food Program, and La Hacienda Esmeralda, as well as Rosslyn Coffee (London), Rita & Cocktails (Milan), Wilden Herbals, and Porsche.
You can also expect quite a party when the sun goes down, as live DJs take over the space and the revelry continues late into the evening, perhaps fueled by the Irish Coffee Throwdown.
