So you’re going to be in Milan next month for HOST and the 2025 World Barista Championship. But six days in a convention center is no one’s idea of a good time, and Milan is a city worth exploring beyond the Fiera. Luckily for you, La Marzocco is hosting a major event of their own during HOST. It’s called Out of the Box, and it takes place Saturday, October 18th.
The theme of this year’s event is “Roots & Wings,” and it will feature a variety of demos, tastings, talks, and hands-on activities. Taking place at Super Studio Più in the heart of Milan, the immersive experience will give attendees access to some of La Marzocco’s commercial and home espresso machines, pulling shots with coffee from an international cadre of roasters like Nomad, Five Elephant, Coffee Supreme, M2M Coffee, Common Grounds, Dear Green, Dune, and Be Bright Coffee.
Out of the Box will also feature discussions on coffee, including topics like the rise of home espresso, how to scale a business with care and intentionality, climate change and the future of coffee, coffee culture, collaboration and design, and coffee pairing. La Marzocco is bringing in expert speakers from inside and outside specialty coffee to dive into the topics. Folks like Rachel Peterson of Hacienda La Esmeralda, James Hennebry of Rosslyn Coffee, Emma Svenningson of Melrose Coffee, and World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion and World Barista Championship Runner-Up Michalis Dimitrakopoulos as well as mixologist Chiara Buzzi, Porsche’s Anne Hungelhoeff, Chef Arthur Potts-Dawson, UK media personality Anthea Turner, and fashion and media brand Highsnobiety.
To cap off the full day’s worth of events, La Marzocco will then transform Out of the Box into an evening party with drinks, small bites, and a live DJ.
Out of the Box Milan is completely free to attend, but space is limited so reserve you spots now by RSVPing via their Eventbrite. It all takes places Saturday, October 18th from 10:00am to 11:30pm. For a full list of talks, speakers, events, roasters, pretty much anything and everything you’d need to know, visit La Marzocco’s official website.
