Ljubljana, Slovenia – The Ljubljana Coffee Festival returns to the City Museum of Ljubljana on September 20–21, 2025, for its largest and most dynamic edition yet. Since 2016, the festival has been a driving force in Slovenia’s specialty coffee culture—bringing together top professionals, producers, and enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond.
The 2025 festival promises a weekend of exceptional coffee, meaningful dialogue, and community connection.

This year’s program offers something for everyone—from seasoned professionals to passionate newcomers. Visitors can enjoy:
- Unlimited tastings of exceptional seasonal coffees from leading Slovenian and international roasters.

coffee science education and debunking myths. - These sessions aim to connect knowledge with practice, providing attendees with actionable insights at every level.
Panel Forum: Specialty Coffee & Haute Cuisine
Following last year’s acclaimed discussion featuring James Hoffmann, Tim Wendelboe, Dale Harris, and Slovenia’s top chefs—including Igor Jagodic, Tomaž Bratovž, and Mojmir Šiftar—the “Specialty Coffee & Haute Cuisine” panel returns in 2025 with fresh perspectives and bold new ideas.
This year’s forum continues to bridge the culinary and coffee worlds, asking how coffee can be treated with the same respect as wine or fine ingredients in high-end dining. The conversation will explore how coffee can enhance the full gastronomic experience—not only at the end of a meal but as a creative element throughout.
Featured panelists include:
- Carolyne Lane from the Noma Coffee Project (Copenhagen),
- Colombian coffee producer and chef Liz Escobar,
- Patrik Rolf, founder of April Coffee, known for developing Michelin-level coffee tasting menus,
- and Morten Munchow, leading coffee scientist and educator from CoffeeMind.
Together, they will examine the evolving role of coffee in contemporary gastronomy—from sourcing and flavor design to multi-course pairing experiences and sensory integration in fine dining contexts.
This session is a must for chefs, sommeliers, baristas, and anyone pushing the boundaries of coffee and cuisine.
