We are all anxiously awaiting that 1:2 scale La Marzocco Linea Mini Lego set getting 10,000 votes and heading to production—it currently has just under 1,000, so you should definitely go give it a vote—but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be ready to roll by the holiday season. Luckily, the other half of the perennial Analytics of Autumn standout duo, the Mahlkönig EK43, is getting the miniaturized treatment for all your bricked-out coffee needs. Just in time to stock a stuffing, the EK43 Brick Set is here to get that coffee lover in your life the grinder they have been coveting, if only in toy form.

Available via Mahlkönig UK, the EK43 Brick Set a perfect little replica of everyone’s go-to little grinder. The 240-piece set is the spitting image of the black variant of the ubiquitous cafe staple, if only in 8-bit form. Each set runs £22.50 GBP ($28 USD) and are shipping out of Mahlkönig UK’s Chesterfield, Derbyshire warehouse.

Honestly, as someone with Gesha taste but a commodity budget, I need more of these build-your-own plastic versions of high-end coffee gadgetry. A Lego 15kg Giesen roaster? Yes please. And why not add an Ikawa sample roaster to boot? A pixelated Ground Control Cyclops? A mini-cafe must-have. I need them all. I’ve got big-time cafe dreams and my little round-headed clientele are in desperate need of caffeine.

So forget grabbing your coffee friend yet another v60 or their fourth AeroPress. What they want is an EK43. And short of dropping the $3,000+ to get them one (which if you are going to do that, please consider also being my friend), the EK43 Brick Set would do the trick nicely.
