The Good Food Awards have announced their 2014 finalists finalists including coffee, cheese, spirits, charcuterie, and beer. This is the event’s fourth year; it is anchored by Whole Foods, Williams Sonoma, Bi-Rite Market, the Ferry Building, and a diverse roster of sponsors from around the United States, including Sprudge.com – this our first year as official GFA sponsors and we’re delighted to take part.

26 distinct coffees from 22 different roasters were selected as 2013 GFA finalists. The event’s coffee chairs – Jen Apodaca (Blue Bottle Coffee), Andrew Barnett (Linea Caffe), Tony Konecny (Tonx.org), Brent Fortune (Heart Roasters), and its committee – including Liz Clayton (Serious Eats / Sprudge.com), David Piza (Sustainable Harvest), Devorah Freudiger (Equator Coffees), and more – oversaw a list of judges with unimpeachable credentials. A full list of the judges and committee members is available here.

An awards ceremony will be held on January 16th at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. If you’d like to attend the Gala or enjoy the open-air marketplace, visit the Good Food Awards website for more information.

We’ve split this helpful buying guide up by region, with links to the available coffees where applicable. Simply click through to purchase these fine coffees directly from their respective roasters – this is truly a bonanza of delicious dried cherry seeds, and a snapshot (albeit a partial one) of who’s who right now in the US specialty coffee scene.
