"Kone Toboggan" -- In fifth place with 156 points, this entry comes from Ian P. Bailey of Vermont. We loved this shot's composition and sense of mirth, and came back to it repeatedly as a top-five favorite.

It was so much fun to watch entries pour in, but in the end, we had to choose a winner. To do so we assigned point values – 1 through 6, natch – to a series of categories including “wow factor”, “Xtremeness”, “composition”, and “authenticity”. Our 5-member judging panel was unanimous in its decision – look for a full feature on the #XtremeKone winner in the coming days, plus some very special honorable mentions. But for now, the slideshow!

"Naked Forest Kone Montage" -- In third place with 169 points, this stunning photo set from Stefan Feldmann, a Vancouver, BC barista working with JJ Bean. Mr. Feldmann's obvious assets are on full display here, but we were even more taken by the fact that he's actually brewing in this photo, and his obvious dedication to the craft (and his bicycle). Congratulations for your Third Place win, Stefan! You get a whole prize pack of goodies from Able Brewing.

"Kone Koma" -- IN SECOND PLACE WITH 176PTS, this charmingly disturbing bit of photography from Luann Bailey almost won the whole contest. Every little detail is hilarious: the corpse-like patient; the oddly cheerful RN; the various hooks and plugs and wall markings that let you know the shot came from a real hospital. Well done, Luann Bailey! You win all kinds of awesome prizes from Able Brewing.
