It’s hard to ignore how stunningly fitting this all seems. As the world prepares to descend on Melbourne, Australia for the 2013 World Barista Championship, late yesterday the USBC released a full breakdown of all the scores and placements at the 2013 United States Barista Championship in Boston.

Folks with intimate knowledge of this year’s competition season will draw their own conclusions from the publication of this list. The thing that stands out to us most is the immense uptick in scores that occurred as the USBC shifted from round one into Semi-Finals Saturday; for what it’s worth, this heightened scoring feels like it corresponds to the increased intensity and performance quality we witnessed in person.
