The internet is buzzing over Academy Award winner Lady Gaga and her role as Patrizia Reggiani in the upcoming Ridley Scott picture House of Gucci. The film—based on the book of the same name—is about the killing of the former chief of the fashion house Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver) but the true star of the movie is clearly coffee.
Memes have been circulating featuring Gaga’s espresso demitasse sip, but that’s just the tip of the coffee iceberg. We clocked several serious coffee moments in the two trailers that have dropped thus far.
In the very first frames of the new trailer Lady Gaga steps out of Caffe Greco in Rome, Italy. Notice the 250 Year Anniversary signage—this wouldn’t have been put out until 2010! (Caffe Greco opened in 1860.)
The Italian coffee company Costadoro is featured prominently in the ski-slopes scenes depicted in the House of Gucci trailer. Those scenes were filmed at Gressoney-Saint-Jean in northwestern Italy.
Academy Award winner Al Pacino (Aldo Gucci) is seen here with a vintage black Gucci mug on his desk. These mugs are hard to find!
Lady Gaga and Academy Award Winner Salma Hayek are seen smoking outside while drinking out of demitasse that bears the name “Battista” while ordering the hit on Maurizio Gucci. Not much is known about this location, but if you have intel, please let us know.
In a flash we see Academy Award winner Adam Driver going full Hulk on a table full of demitasse. Don’t spill that coffee, Maurizio!

House of Gucci premieres later this month, and fans of coffee—much like fans of cinema, fashion, and Gaga—are positively buzzing for it.
