It’s summertime here in the Northern Hemisphere, and that means it’s hot. Like, really hot. But that doesn’t mean you should let a little triple-digit heat keep your from schvitzing with an espresso. That’s where Coffeesaunners comes in. The Japanese coffee brand is hosting a rooftop pop-up sauna—with coffee—next month in Osaka.

It’s frankly an amazing idea, though not entirely unheard of in Japan. In Hakone, about 250 miles east, one can take a dip in the coffee spas, which are basically just swimming pools full of coffee. (Wine, tea, and ramen spas are also available.) And while that may be quite literally a more immersive coffee experience, the rooftop sauna is more my speed. Between the healthful benefits of the coffee and a nice invigorate sweat, there won’t be a single toxin left within a three-mile radius of your body.

Taking place Sunday, July 3rd in Osaka’s Kitahorie neighborhood, the rooftop sauna is a reservation-only experience bringing together a hot sauna and cold coffee. It all begins with a quick change into appropriate swimwear, followed by a cold shower. Then they bring the heat. In a “sauna tent” set up on the roof, folks can sweat out the toxins while staring up at the open sky and enjoying a chill-presso coffee drink.

There will be sauna hats for sale and towels for rent, should you forget to bring either of those necessities.

One and a half hour blocks can be reserved for ¥3,000 (roughly $22 USD). It all takes place Sunday, July 3rd on top of the JPEC building in Kitahorie. For more information, visit Coffeesaunner’s Instagram page.
