Breaking news in the espresso machine manufacturing world as Seattleโ€™s Synesso has been acquired the Middleby Corporation based in Elgin, Illinois. The purchase was announced via a statement released today, December 2nd.

Per the statement, Synesso now joins other US coffee brands Concordia, JoeTap, and Ss Brewtech as part of the publicly traded foodservice equipment companyโ€™s portfolio. From the press release:

Our Seattle-based coffee companies are able to provide operators with a variety of sought-after options including automated bean to cup, cold brew, nitro brew, traditional carafe and now semi-automatic espresso. There are strong synergies between Synesso and our current U.S. coffee brands.

According to the press release, Synesso has โ€œquickly grown to $10m in revenues.โ€ The amount of the sale remains unknown as of press time. The news comes almost two years to the day after Slayer, another Seattle-based espresso machine manufacturer, announced they were being acquired by Gruppo Cimbali.
