Breaking news in the espresso machine manufacturing world as Seattleโs Synesso has been acquired the Middleby Corporation based in Elgin, Illinois. The purchase was announced via a statement released today, December 2nd.
Per the statement, Synesso now joins other US coffee brands Concordia, JoeTap, and Ss Brewtech as part of the publicly traded foodservice equipment companyโs portfolio. From the press release:
Our Seattle-based coffee companies are able to provide operators with a variety of sought-after options including automated bean to cup, cold brew, nitro brew, traditional carafe and now semi-automatic espresso. There are strong synergies between Synesso and our current U.S. coffee brands.
According to the press release, Synesso has โquickly grown to $10m in revenues.โ The amount of the sale remains unknown as of press time. The news comes almost two years to the day after Slayer, another Seattle-based espresso machine manufacturer, announced they were being acquired by Gruppo Cimbali.
