This coming Friday, May 9th our friends and partners at Cafe Imports are teaming with Sensory Lab‘s new Bondi Beach location to throw an open house and slurparama for the fine people of Sydney. Guests will have an opportunity to try coffees from top North American roasters like Intelligentsia, Colectivo, Spyhouse, Verve, Kickapoo, Joe NYC and more, all sourced in partnership with Cafe Imports, whose own Andy Reiland designed the event’s poster. Sydneysiders can expect complimentary bevvies by Rocks Brewing Co. and nibbles from The Fine Food Store.
The event also marks the kick-off to what’s become an annual fall occasion in Australia: The Great Coffee Invasion, wherein coffee types from around the world descend on Melbourne (and her fair sister, Sydney) for a week + of festivities and revelry centered around the Melbourne International Coffee Festival.
The entirety of our Portland-based editorial staff will be on hand, decamping to Melbourne for two full weeks of Antipodean Sprudging the likes of which we’ve only dreamed. We want to drink your coffee. We want to drink your wine. We want to eat your brekkies and your croissants and all the rest. Most of all, Friday, May 16th, just one week after this Cafe Imports event, we want you to join us as we DJ and live-cover the Australian AeroPress Championship, an event you can read much more about here.
Set aside a tinny of Tiger, Australia–we’ll be there soon.
