Bettr Coffee
Outstanding Design Achievement — Goods and Garments Finalist
The world of coffee brands (and brands in general) are usually filled with happy mascots, constantly smiling frontmen, and saccharine do-gooders. But this huge gap between image and truth of real life. (Which incidentally, is also the root cause of most of the world’s problems). Bettr is a B-corp business committed to Bettr-ing our planet through coffee. It’s a tough, complex (and sometimes seemingly unachievable) mission, we wanted to create a brand world that reflected the world of social enterprises in all its messy honest imperfect glory.
Welcome to Bettr Coffee. 100% Delicious. 100% Sustainable. We created a narrative brand system that was based on telling all kinds of stories in every format possible. The kinds of stories not usually found on coffee bags, packaging, inside of a cup or a roll of tape. We filled Planet Bettr with characters who are 100% flawed, yet 100% relatable. Despite their many issues, they still try to be 100% Bettr. It’s how we tackle a jaded, disillusioned audience, making complex problems easy to understand and relatable. At Bettr, we believe nothing is ever 100% perfect but our choices and actions can always make the world 100% Bettr.
Our goods and garments are designed to reflect our values of betterment, experimentation, and individuality. We believe that fashion can be a force for good, and we strive to create products that make our eco-conscious customers feel good about themselves and the planet.
We use high-quality materials to create stylish and sustainable products. Our designs are both visually appealing and thought-provoking, featuring 100% statements that express our brand with humour and creativity. We want our customers to feel good about wearing our clothes, knowing that they are supporting a company that is committed to making the world a better place.

PERC Coffee Roasters
Outstanding Design Achievement — Goods and Garments Finalist
All the way back in 2010, our first batch of coffee was roasted under the name “Panther’s Eye Roasting Company”. We quickly realized we needed a shorter name with a nice ring to it, thus we became “PERC”! Now the panther serves as both a tribute to the original name and as our mascot for all things WILD! It’s shown here on this heather coal-colored shirt in neon-esque fashion. The Panther also features a “Bean-Bolt” for an eye and looong and loopy tongue just below the PERC logo. The color palette chosen for this design is a representation of all the vibe offerings: Blue for Mild, Yellow for Balanced, and Pink for Wild.

Visit Fargo-Moorhead
Outstanding Design Achievement — Goods and Garments Finalist
Visit Fargo-Moorhead partnered with local coffee shops in Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo to create a digital passport that encourages visitors and locals to visit local coffee shops. Customers can check in at the local shops to earn points and redeem them for a variety of prizes. The design of the prizes is exciting and colorfully branded according to Visit Fargo-Moorhead’s brand standards and we have put $20,000 behind a campaign highlighting the passport and encouraging sign-ups and visits to these local coffee establishments.
