LANSDALE, PA One Village Coffee, a Certified B Corporation known for its farmer-first values and sustainably sourced, organic coffee, is proud to announce the national launch of four Signature coffee roasts. You can find Artist, Legend, Villager, and Latin America in all Sprouts Farmers Markets Innovation Sets. Available from May through July 2025, this limited-time feature in 447 Sprouts locations nationwide offers One Village the opportunity to earn permanent placement. A transformative milestone for the independent brand.

“This isn’t just a product rollout, it’s the culmination of months of strategy, intention, and impact,” said Matt Adams, co-owner of One Village Coffee and Backyard Beans Coffee Company. Laura Adams, co-owner, replied, “We poured our hearts into every step of the process from sourcing to roasting to delivery, alongside our passionate team and coffee-farming partners around the world.”

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, One Village Coffee has invested in regenerative farming practices, working together with producers to support soil health, biodiversity, and long-term farm resilience. In line with that mission, the company is proud to offer two of its featured blends – Legend and Latin America – as Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC), available exclusively at Sprouts. These ROC coffees represent the highest standard in organic agriculture, combining soil regeneration, animal welfare, and fair labor practices.

Founded in 2007, One Village Coffee was born from a desire to connect farmers, roasters, and coffee lovers through ethically sourced, sustainable coffee. As a proud USDA Organic roaster and member of 1% for the Planet, One Village supports organizations that uplift coffee-growing communities and protect the environment, including World Coffee Research, Food For Farmers, Grounds for Health, The Chain Collaborative and Project Waterfall.

The journey to Sprouts began in December 2024, with a dedicated team of 12 staff members including Laura and Matt Adams, four office staff, and eight production crew. By mid-March, for Sprouts Farmers Market alone, One Village had:

For One Village Coffee, this national launch is more than expanded distribution: it’s an invitation to bring more people into the “village”. This national launch marks a powerful new chapter for One Village Coffee one that began with the brand’s return to local ownership. In June 2023, Backyard Beans Coffee Co. took ownership of One Village Coffee, bringing two Pennsylvania-based B Corp coffee companies together with a shared mission to serve people and planet through coffee. The following release shares more about that transition and what it means for the future.

Backyard Beans Coffee Co. Celebrates Return to Local Roots with Ownership of One Village Coffee

LANSDALE, PA — Backyard Beans Coffee Co. officially took ownership of the One Village Coffee brand in June 2023—bringing the beloved brand back to local hands and strengthening a shared mission to uplift the coffee community through sustainability, transparency, and connection.

One Village Coffee, founded in 2007 and based in Montgomery County, PA, has been a trailblazer in ethical sourcing and social impact. As one of the original certified B Corps in the coffee industry, One Village Coffee has long prioritized relationships with farmers and investing in causes that promote clean water, health, and economic development at origin. In 2018, the company merged with Shared-X, an impact farming company based in Peru, to further deepen its support of farming communities.

Backyard Beans Coffee Co., also based in Montgomery County, PA, started in 2013 when founders Matt and Laura Adams began roasting coffee in their backyard. What started as a grassroots operation grew into a regional brand known for innovation, environmental commitment, and a deep care for people throughout the supply chain—from producers to customers. Backyard Beans became a certified B Corp in 2023 and continues to raise the bar for impact-driven coffee.

Bringing One Village Coffee back under local ownership is a full-circle moment that honors the legacy of the brand. “This isn’t just a business move—it’s a values-driven decision,” said Laura Adams, co-founder of Backyard Beans. “We’ve always admired One Village’s heart for community and quality. Now we get to carry that legacy forward.”

Both brands share the belief that coffee can be a force for good—building stronger supply chains, stewarding the environment, and creating workplaces that empower people. Under Backyard Beans’ ownership, One Village Coffee continues to roast in Montgomery County and remains dedicated to its mission: connecting farmers, roasters, and coffee lovers through ethically sourced coffee and a shared commitment to community, quality, and sustainability.

One Village Coffee and Backyard Beans Coffee Co. will remain distinct brands, each with its own voice and customer base.
