This coming Sunday, June 24th, ye thirsty New Yorkers would do well to attend the 2nd Annual Coffee and Cocktail Mashup, a must-see event pairing some of New York’s brightest coffee minds with a gaggle of its chic spirit purveyors. The idea is, fancy coffee has rightful place behind the proverbial well-stocked bar, and these 5 teams are willing to fight it out in front of God, country, and assembled journalists in order to prove it. The super-star line-up:

Danny Gil (Weather Up) & Mike Jones (Third Rail Coffee)

Jane Danger (Jane’s Sweet Buns) & Park Brannen (Handsome Coffee Roasters)

John deBary (PDT) & Sam Penix (Everyman Espresso)

Brad Farran (Clover Club) & Alex Bernson (Joe Coffee)

Meaghan Doorman (Raines Law Room) & Teresa Von Fuchs (Dallis Bros. Coffee)

Judges include journos from Time Out NY, Wine Enthusiast, and the New York Times, with MC duties falling to Amy Zavatto, contributing editor at Imbibe Magazine. 2AC&CM costs $20 to attend (for which one is promised at least one cocktail), and serves as a fundraiser for an upcoming panel discussion at Tales Of The Cocktail, hosted by the aforementioned Ms. Zavatto and Cora Lambert, formerly of RBC NYC (instrumental in our #yesequal campaign), soon to be of New York’s dark & lovely Lower East Side cash-only bardo, Milk & Honey.

Space is reputedly limited, so buy your tickets in advance here. The event itself happens at 5pm on the 24th at Weather Up (159 Duane Street), in Tribeca, Manhattan.
