That’s right, Nat Diego, San Diego’s fun-loving natural wine festival is returning Friday and Saturday, July 27th and 28th for a second year of pours, tacos, and good times, with a little education sprinkled on top.

The theme of this year’s Nat Diego is “Farming Simply,” a sort of introduction into what makes “natural” wine natural. To this end, Nat Diego will kick off their festivities with a producer’s seminar on Friday at Vino Carta titled “Square One: Farming for Natural Wine.” Over the course of three sessions, producers will give attendees insight into natural viticulture, which of course will include a tasting of more than a couple of wines. You know, for research.

After the learning is over, the party really gets going with Friday’s Opening Night Pet Nasty Party at the Rose Sidebar. Expect to find bubbly delights around every corner and all the street tacos you can eat. Then on Saturday, the main event: the Grand Tasting. Taking place at Bread & Salt, this year’s Nat Diego will feature over 60 producers from around the world, including France’s Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot, and local winemakers J. Brix, Roark Wine Company, and Donkey & Goat, to name a few.

And if four hours and 60 wines isn’t enough for you, the party rages on later that night with the free to attend Closing Party back at Vino Carta.

Tickets for the second annual Nat Diego festivities can be purchased a la carte and range in price from $10 for the Producer’s Seminar up to $50 for the Grand Tasting. They can be purchased via Eventbrite or you can risk it and get them at the door, but that will cost you a little extra. You should buy your tickets early and save money for more tacos.
