It’s been one week since Erika Lee Vonie, a green coffee seller at Crop To Cup in New York, took home top honors at the 2017 Coffee Masters tournament at the New York Coffee Festival. People are still buzzing about this win, which featured what we’re unabashedly calling the most exciting finals round in Coffee Masters history between Vonie and her able opponent, Agnieszka Rojewska of Poland. In the end, Vonie won out by just .4 points, with the competitors matching each other at every turn throughout the two-hour final.

Thrilling, inspiring, unforgettable—we had to learn more, and so Erika Lee Vonie is our featured guest on this week’s episode of the Coffee Sprudgecast, a coffee podcast from Sprudge founders Jordan Michelman and Zachary Carlsen. Listen in as we talk with Vonie about her big win, learn the secrets of her cotton candy signature drink, and catch a glimpse at what the future holds for her (hint: she’s roasting).
