Bean for Bean is back! Now entering year three, Go Fund Bean’s mentorship program for coffee professionals returns in 2023, and applications for both mentors and mentees are now available.
The program will work much like it has in previous years. Go Fund Bean will act as facilitator to connect mentees with mentors in the area of the specialty coffee industry they have expressed interest in, “based on compatible goals and skill sets,” per the website. After that, the pair will work together over a six-month period—starting in April and ending in October—to achieve goals set at the beginning of the mentorship. But the relationship is mentee driven; they will be in charge of setting goals, asking questions, and seeking out advice from their assigned mentors. Participants are expected to set aside 45 to 90 minutes per week, depending on the needs of the relationship.
Beyond the one-on-one, Go Fund Bean set up a Discord for all participants, where they can discuss and collaborate.
Applications for Bean for Bean are now open through February 28th for mentors and mentees. When applying, mentees are suggested to have one to three goals in mind that they want to work toward with their mentor. For their part, potential mentors needs to consider what areas they may be able to aid those new to their particular sector of the coffee industry. Those selected will be notified the week of March 13th.
So if you want to take part in the 2023 Go Fund Bean Bean for Bean cohort, head over to their official website for more information and to fill out your application.
