Counter Culture Coffee Unveils “Espresso Apollo”

Espresso Apollo
Espresso Apollo

We’re always excited about developments from one of our favorite roasters from back East, Counter Culture Coffee. According to our friends at Philadelphia’s fabulous Ultimo Coffee:

Counter Culture Coffee has been quietly revealing a new and un-named espresso over this past month in select cafes and we have been honored to be among the chosen.  We’ve been calling it Espresso “X.”  It is a bright, clean and sweet espresso that bounces on the palate and reminds us of citrus, caramelized butter, honey and plum.  Espresso lovers everywhere (including us) have been raving over it.

Durham, North Carolina roasters have just unveiled their newest espresso blend: “Espresso Apollo”. Here’s more from the official web site:

Introducing Apollo – A seasonal approach to handcrafted espresso. 65% Dulce Nombre de Jesus, Marcala, Honduras. 35% Harfusa, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

This new announcement reminds us of Chicago-based roasters Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea’s “Black Cat Project“: taking the idea of seasonality and applying it to a constantly evolving espresso blend. We’re delighted, excited, and can’t wait to try it!
