A leader in the UK coffee scene since 2011, this year marked a return to physical retail for Workshop Coffee, in the form of a smart new cafe and educational facility under one roof. Located in Belgravia, a storied neighborhood in the heart of central London, the new hub from Workshop is one of the most exciting new openings of 2026. We’re thrilled to take a closer look at their launch in today’s edition of the Build-Outs of Coffee feature series.
The 2026 Build-outs of Coffee is presented by DONA, Pacific Barista Series, and La Marzocco.
As told to Sprudge by James Bailey.
For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?
Sourcing, roasting, and brewing high quality coffees since 2011. Our focus is on relationship coffee, repeat purchasing from small scale growers, producing clean, sweet, and fresh coffees.
Can you tell us a bit about the new space?
Located on Eccleston Street in the heart of Belgravia, just a short walk from Victoria Station and moments from Eccleston Yards, the Workshop Cafe & Academy is our return to bricks and mortar in London.
Since 2011, Workshop has been part of London’s specialty coffee scene, known for our focus on quality, precision, and long-term relationships at origin. After years dedicated to roasting and supplying remarkable coffee to homes and hospitality partners worldwide, this new space brings the Workshop experience together under one roof.
Our all-day cafe is light-filled and characterful, designed for both quick visits and longer stays. We serve seasonal single-origin coffees alongside our house espresso, Article, with a rotating selection of filter coffees brewed to order, allowing you to explore the changing harvests we source throughout the year.
Alongside our coffee program is a considered menu of seasonal food, from breakfast through to lunch, crafted to complement what’s in the cup.
As evening arrives, the cafe shifts into a relaxed aperitivo setting, serving a curated menu of wine, champagne, cocktails, and seasonal small plates, perfect for unwinding after work or lingering into the evening. Outside, our terrace offers a front-row view of Belgravia life, whether you’re stopping for a coffee on the go, meeting friends or enjoying a quiet moment in the city.
Beneath the cafe sits the Workshop Training Academy, a dedicated space for learning, development, and shared discovery. Here we host hands-on masterclasses, monthly origin cuppings, tastings and professional training for the hospitality industry, led by our experienced coffee team. It’s an extension of our belief that great coffee is built on understanding, craftsmanship, and continual learning.
What’s your approach to coffee?
We are dedicated to sourcing high quality coffees from small scale growers, looking to repeat buy every year from the same groups, paying premium prices to work towards farmer prosperity. Our cup profile is clean, sweet, and fresh, predominantly washed coffees from East Africa and Latin America. Our origins of focus are Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda as well as Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Brazil.
Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?
Slayer Steam LP, 3Temp batch brewer, Marco FRIIA HCS, Ditting Lab Sweet, Mahlkönig EK43, Victoria Arduino Mythos One, Slushie machine!
How is your project considering sustainability?
Sensitively sourced materials in partnership with 3stories (recycled woods and materials for outdoor furnitures). Suppliers with like minded approach to slow food cultivation, procurement and treatment.
What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?
We opened in February 2026.
Thank you!
