On Tuesday, May 21st at Melbourne’s Code Black Coffee Roasters, Sprudge.com will be co-hosting our first cupping party of 2013 alongside our friends and partners at Cafe Imports. You may recall Code Black from a feature we ran last March, titled “Code Black Coffee Looks Really Cool” – we’re sincerely looking forward to participating in an event at this gorgeous new cafe.
The party kicks off at 6pm on Tuesday, May 21st at Code Black Coffee Roasters (15-17 Weston Street, Brunswick, Melbourne). This event is totally free and open to the public. Guests can expect a cupping table studded with North American roasters not commonly seen in Oz, including several Portland area boutique roasters and selections from other fine roasters across the United States. These coffees are all being flown directly into Australia with considerable subterfuge by Your Sprudge Editors and the team at Cafe Imports – let’s see what makes it through customs!
Noah Namowicz of Cafe Imports will be on hand to talk specifically about some of the microlot coffees on the table, the lot building process, and how Cafe Imports goes about selecting what to offer their roaster partners. Your Sprudge Editors will be there as well to take photos, cup the good stuff, meet a lot of nice Australians for the first time, and likely have a glass of wine. There will be light refreshments on hand to help make the evening even more grand.
Join us! Facebook event info here – we hope to see you all there on Tuesday, May 21st.
