Here they are, another heaping helping of international Barista Champions, each one bound for the WBC in Vienna. We tracked ’em all down on Facebook and gave them a good, thorough stalking. There’s even some competition video buried within the madness! Come stalk with us, won’t you? (Part 1 of our stalking tour is here.)

Look at that! It’s United Arab Emirates champ Matt Toogood, whose name is second only to India’s Merlin Raj as our favorite in this year’s crop of WBC competitors. Mr. Toogood is a partner and director at Raw Coffee Company, home to “Dubai’s only premium 100% organic 100% fair trade fresh Arabica coffee.” Matt enjoys Calvin and Hobbes, the film Snatch, and old house music – so basically, he’s a man after our own hearts.
