The First Sip! 2025

Join us in Houston, TX, during the SCA Expo 2025 for the second annual “The First Sip!”, hosted by the Coffee Coalition for Racial Equity (CCRE). This premier fundraising and networking event is a unique occasion to unite industry leaders, coffee professionals, and advocates in celebrating Black excellence within the coffee sector. Together, we’re driving progress toward a more diverse and equitable industry.
CCRE stands as the coffee industry’s accountability partner in promoting racial equity, aspiring to create an environment where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated. We envision a coffee industry where talents are recognized, nurtured, and rewarded to their fullest potential. This fundraiser is pivotal in achieving that vision by supporting the launch of our Brewing for Equity Leadership Development Program.
Our goal is to raise $50,000. With your help, the Brewing for Equity Leadership Development Program will kick off as a yearlong initiative curated to enhance knowledge and build networks among coffee professionals. We aim to create opportunities for mentorship, networking, and career growth, allowing us to shape future leaders in the coffee industry.
In addition to advancing individual careers, your support will help us recognize and celebrate the changemakers driving innovation and inclusivity in our community. Moreover, the funds raised will contribute to expanding our educational outreach efforts, including initiatives like our podcast, “Brewing for Equity,” which seeks to amplify diverse voices and stories within the industry.
