Back at the end of 2021, Etkin made waves on the coffee brewing scene with their addition to the pour-over pantheon, an 8-cup flat-bottom brewer. Before Etkin, if you wanted a large format hand brewed coffee, your only option was the Chemex, a conical brewer. That changed with the Turkish-designed brewer, offering Chemex volume with Kalita repeatability that rapidly grew in popularity, even picking up a Sprudgie nomination for Best New Product along the way.

Now, Etkin is completing the bigger picture by thinking smaller with their all-new 2-Cup Dripper. And it’s live on Kickstarter now.

With the 2-cup flat bottom pour-over device, the Istanbul-based Etkin isn’t looking to reinvent the wheel, just downsize it a bit. Created in collaboration with Instanbul design firm Modesign, the new brewer has all the hallmarks of the 8-cup; constructed entirely of Turkish porcelain, the double-walled design allows for greater temperature stability and easier handling (no need to worry about burning your hands while brewing). The deep ridges, per the press release, “improve upon existing pour-over drippers by elevating the filter.”

With just under four weeks left in the campaign, the Etkin 2-Cup Dripper is just under $500 away from its $5,000 goal. Would-be backers are able to secure a brewer of their own for as little as $42 via the Kickstarter, 16% off the MSRP. With all the suppliers and manufacturers already secured from the previous brewer, the turn-around time for back rewards is rather short, with deliveries expect to start shipping out in June of this year.
