La Marzocco’s Home program dropped a bomb on the coffee industry when it launched the Linea Mini in 2015. But the Linea Micra—released in late 2023—upped the ante, by offering an entry-level portal into La Marzocco’s authentic Florentine world of design and manufacturing heritage. It’s fair to think of this machine as a scaled down version of the Linea Classic, and it’s easy to set up, boasts double boilers, PID, and full temperature control. This has become our go-to answer for the frequently asked question of, “What home espresso machine do you recommend?”

DiFluid AirWave — Air Filter

difluide coffee gear

Air quality is a pressing issue no matter how you slice it. And for small commercial roasters and especially home coffee roasting enthusiasts, the DiFluid AirWave is a huge leap forward. From their official site:

Coffee roasting produces harmful fine particles (PM) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that pose serious long-term health risks in roasting environments. In many settings, proper venting is costly, complicated, or simply not possible—especially when trying to meet local emissions regulations. Traditional smoke filters are energy-hungry, bulky, and often fail to meet the needs of small-scale roasters. And DiFluid AirWave changes that, powered by advanced monatomic catalytic technology and an intelligent energy-saving algorithm. AirWave delivers powerful filtration and purification with a dramatically smaller footprint and far lower energy use.
