Bay Area baristas (and those who love them), Game 4 of 6 in the Bay Area Coffee Community Latte Art Series happens tomorrow night. Baristas, sign up is a 6PM – and the competition starts at 7PM. Do you have what it takes to be the Bay Area Coffee Community Latte Art Champion? Only time will tell. The event takes place at Farley’s East in Downtown Oakland (33 Grand Avenue).
Each game gets a little bigger, and a little more gruesome. Here’s an update from BACC ringleader Richard Sandlin in an email correspondence after Game 3:
“A BIG THANK YOU to Contraband Coffee for hosting us, Zaki’s Kebab House (the food was AMAZING), Frozhen Kustard, Alter Eco, Rip Van Wafels and Blossom for all coming out and engaging with us. And a BIG THANK YOU to Katie, Emily and Sharky for judging last night!
“We had between 125-150 people throughout the night present and saw three new winners, Harold McGovern from Coffee Bar SF, Stephen and Lauren Krabbe from Blue Bottle Coffee, all of whom received incredible tampers from Espresso Parts!”
Here’s the standing so far in the series:
1. Che Garcia – 200 points (Ritual Coffee)
2. Harold McGovern – 100 points (Coffee Bar)
3. Demart Denaro and Joshua Bonner – 75 points (Blue Bottle and Stanza)
4. Lauren Krabbe – 50 points (Blue Bottle)
5. Stephen – 25 points (Blue Bottle)
