Now available in 6kg, 10kg, and 20kg capacities, the M-Series represents a landmark achievement in specialty coffee technology but also a significant case-study on overcoming the challenge of on-shoring manufacturing in today’s economic and political climate.
The M-Series is the culmination of a five-year development cycle aimed at bridging the gap between artisanal roasting and modern automation. Every machine is engineered and built within Mill City’s state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot, solar-powered facility in Northeast Minneapolis.
ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION
- The M-Series introduces several industry-leading features designed to provide roasters with unparalleled control and consistency:
- Monolithic Chassis and Advanced Drums: A fully insulated, monolithic plate steel chassis ensures thermal stability, while shaftless, double-walled drums provide superior heat transfer and bean agitation.
- Next-Gen HMI with Haptic Control: The series debuts the RoastPATH touchscreen interface, featuring a custom-programmed haptic feedback jog wheel for intuitive, tactile precision over roast parameters.
- Acoustic-Optimized Environment: Custom-engineered silent exhaust fans reduce ambient noise, improving the roasting environment without sacrificing cooling power.
- Future-Proof Technology: All M-Series roasters are equipped for remote firmware upgrades and a comprehensive remote diagnostics suite, allowing for proactive maintenance and the seamless addition of new features.
INDEPENDENT U.S. MANUFACTURING
The launch of the M-Series marks Mill City’s strategic move to bring its core manufacturing ecosystem entirely in-house. After investing in heavy machinery, specialized tooling, and assembling a craft-focused fabrication team, the company now fabricates over 400 unique components per roaster within its Minneapolis headquarters.
