Having an espresso machine at home is a luxury. Having a high-end espresso machine at home, like the La Marzocco Linea Mini, is luxurious. What is beyond luxurious I cannot say, but I know what it looks like. Introducing a limited-edition La Marzocco Linea Mini, designed in collaboration with luxury luggage brand RIMOWA.

Announced today, the exclusive Linea Mini is the “perfect blend of Italian and German design and engineering.” At the heart of the collaboration is the single-group home version of the cafe workhorse, the Linea. The form and function of one of the leading home espresso machines remains unchained, but with some rather well-appointed updates coming from RIMOWA.

The brand’s “signature grooved aluminum” cover the all grey machine, with both the RIMOWA monogram and La Marzocco’s own lion logo emblazoned on the water and steam knobs, respectively. A custom portafilter is “reinterpreted in anodised aluminium, as are its feet.” Officine Fratelli Bambi appears on the back panel, a nod to the LM workshop where each of the machines are hand built, requiring over 40 hours each.

The RIMOWA Linea Mini will debut next week, April 15th, during Milan Design Week. It will be teh centerpiece at both the La Marzocco Store pop-up through April 21st as well as the Caffè RIMOWA pop-up at Spazio Maiocchi.
