If it feels like Counter Culture is everywhere, it’s because they are. With 12 training labs across the United States, they are one of the country’s most expansive coffee brands. And one of their oldest training labs is getting a refresh. After over a decade in existence, the Washington, DC lab has found a new home, and Counter Culture wants to share it with you this Friday and Saturday, March 23rd and 24th.
Counter Culture training labs are normally behind-the-scenes affairs, where the roaster’s wholesale clients are able to get hands-on professional training. But to celebrate the new space for their DC lab, Counter Culture is holding a cupping and an open house, both free and open to the public. “We look forward to sharing our new location in Adams Morgan with our great coffee partners and coffee lovers,” said president Brett Smith in a press release.
The festivities begin with on Friday at 10:00am with a coffee tasting, the aptly titled Tasting at Ten. This is part of a weekly public cupping series Counter Culture hosts at their training labs, so this will the first of many at the new location. Then on Saturday at 10:00am, the lab will host an Open House (alas, without a fun name) featuring free coffee and espresso for all guests, pulled by a mix of staff and guest baristas.
Both events are completely free of charge and tickets are not required for either, but Counter Culture would like those looking to attend the Open House to RSVP, which can be done here.
