Atlanta, you do not get enough love from specialty coffee. You have a legit, vibrant scene – spearheaded by Octane Coffee, both in Decatur and Marietta – and well-known players who compete locally and bring it nationally – Ben Helfen and Lem Butler, just to name a few, plus Sprudge buddy Jason Dominy and the crew at DirtyCup.com. We love you, Atlanta; did you know our favorite novel is “A Man In Full”, and that the absolute best “new south” cuisine we’ve ever had was at South City Kitchen? Or that we think Little Five Points is a super fun neighborhood, and that the Dekalb Farmers Market is one of the coolest places ever?

Yeah, Atlanta, Sprudge has some love for you. Seriously. Check out this upcoming event at the Batdorf and Bronson on 1530 Carroll:

One Coffee. Any Method. One Winner. Anybody’s Game.
There will be one coffee.
You can brew with any device or dosing.
There will be one winner chosen from a panel of three judges on taste.
All are welcome to battle it out. There will be cool prizes.

Coffee will be announced the night prior to the event.

Special Guest Judge will be announced.

Plans are that we all go out to eat afterwards, if possible.

Sponsored by Batdorf & Bronson, Barista Magazine.

Check it out at the BGA website, learn more on Facebook. On a not entirely unrelated note, half of Sprudge.com will be in the Atlanta area (not far from Beaufort Highway) over the Thanksgiving weekend, and we want to hang out with you. Any classic cocktail or BBQ recommendations are greatly appreciated.
