Coffee brewing can be a complicated calculus. Variables like grind size, water temperature, TDS, and total brew time (and how the water gets distributed across that total brew time) just add to the slurry of confusion and make the whole process very agitating. Or maybe you don’t agitate anymore. I can’t keep up with the brew parameters du jour.

But there’s a refreshingly simple new brew guide out there, and it’s only six steps (one of them is “wait”). Created by Mouthfeel, a magazine that “explores the cross-section of food, gay culture and art,” the gif-driven tutorials are “powered by Stumptown” and are part of Mouthfeel’s coffee-focused third issue. They are master class in the art of chilling the fuck out and enjoying the process.
