Chef Tu David Phu’s Cookbook Release Party
Join us at The Caffè by Mr. Espresso on Saturday, September 14th from 11am to 1pm for a Cookbook Release Party celebrating Oakland-born Chef Tu David Phu’s brand new cookbook, “The Memory of Taste: Vietnamese American Recipes from Phú Quoc, Oakland, and the Spaces Between.”
For $50, you’ll receive a signed copy of the cookbook, a choice of one of two specialty coffee drinks created by Chef Tu, a bag of Mr. Espresso’s signature Neapolitan Espresso and the opportunity to meet “Top Chef” alum Tu David Phu and co-author, podcast host and food writer Soleil Ho.
Together, Chef Tu and Soleil will share stories and insights from the cookbook, which includes a collection of over 85 Vietnamese and Viet American dishes inspired by Chef Tu’s journey from his hometown of Oakland to Phú Quôc, Vietnam. This book is a must-have for anyone passionate about Vietnamese cooking.

Don’t miss out on The Caffè’s Chef Collab Drink, the popular Cà Phê Sua Matcha, available at The Caffè on September 14th along with another special drink from Chef Tu: the Coconut Shakerato. It’s made with condensed milk, coconut cream, and a touch of cocoa powder and is inspired by the impactful role coconut plays in Chef Tu’s cookbook.
