There’s a new coffee shop in Portland, Oregon, and it is said to be the first of its kind in the city, no small feat in the city where café is king. The Willamette Weekly reports that the new spot, the Moonfyre Café, “will be the city’s first dedicated spot for coffee enthusiasts, members of the kink, BDSM and sex-positive communities to meet, learn and have sex.”

Moonfyre is touted on their Facebook page as “Portland’s first kinky café” and sits adjacent to other adult-oriented businesses including its building mate Catalyst, a sex positive resource and event center. Created by Pixie Fyre – a professional dominatrix, kink educator, and victim’s advocate – the 18+ café is separated into three distinct areas: the coffee shop, the education space, and the dungeon or “play space.“

The café will function like any other coffee shop in the city, except that it cohabitates with sex positive spaces. The educational space will be used for classes, like the Dominance and Submission Intensive Workshop schedule for July 30th. The dungeon requires a $5 entry fee to help offset the cost of condoms, lubricants, and play area sterilization, and features a variety of themed areas for patrons to utilize.

Though not the first of its kind nationally (that designation belongs to San Francisco’s Wicked Grounds), Moonfyre is adding to the ever-increasing “And” in “Coffee and…” More information about their café, classes, and other activities can be found here.
