Speaking from experience here, let me just say that getting paid to drink coffee is a pretty great gig. (Ok, maybe I get paid to talk about coffee and the drinking of it is more of a fringe benefit, but itโ€™s all mouth-based coffee work, so let me have this.) But you donโ€™t have to take my word for it, as one company is now looking for to find people to pay real, actual money simply to drink coffee. Business.org will give you $1,000 to drink coffee at local shops for a month, and they are now taking applications.

Essentially a consulting firm focusing on small businessesโ€”like, oh I donโ€™t know, local coffee shopsโ€”Business.org is looking for โ€œself-professed Starbucks junkiesโ€ who are willing to their Big Green overlords and go local for a month. Participants will be tasked with visiting at least eight local coffee shops, where they will track โ€œimportant elements of their experiences such as cost, quality, customer service, and average wait time.โ€ There will be some photoing, some summarizing, maybe a little social mediating, but thatโ€™s about it. And for all this, youโ€™ll be paid a cool $1,000.

As stated by on Business.org, there are no office hours, no drug tests, and no background checks. Just coffee and cold hard cash.

To apply, just fill out a quick application/questionnaire with your demographic information and reasons why you would be a good candidate, and send a video to Business.org โ€œto plead your case.โ€ Applications are open until Monday, September 30th. For more information on what is required or to apply, visit Business.org’s official website.

And if you are selected, I only require a 5% finder’s fee, which I believe is more than equitable. Venmo me!
