Welcome to The Sprudge Twenty—presented by Pacific Foods Barista Series. Now in its second year, The Sprudge Twenty is an annual initiative honoring and amplifying leaders in the specialty coffee community. After a wildly successful first year of the program, we’re thrilled to bring you The Sprudge Twenty for 2020.
Now more than ever, we believe the future of coffee is being written a fresh new chapter by the people who work around it every day. From mentors and leaders to young strivers and future game-changers, baristas and farmers, traders and teachers, entrepreneurs and original voices—our goal is to identify and uplift the voices that matter in the worldwide coffee industry, and to center their stories for the entire industry to learn and grow.

Sprudge and Pacific can’t do it alone—we need you, our readers, to nominate individuals who best exemplify what makes coffee so remarkable in 2020. This is an open call to our global network of readers and partners: nominate people in your business or community who exemplify excellence, leadership, and the future of coffee. Nominations can be submitted in any language, in the form of an original essay, audio nomination, or video recording, so that there is no barrier to submission.
Entry is 100% free for all, no matter who you are or where you come from. This is made possible directly through the support and advocacy of our partners at Pacific Foods Barista Series, and is aligned with their wider mission for an inclusive, sustainable world of coffee.
This year’s nominees will receive a special spotlight feature right here on Sprudge, highlighting their stories and the issues they care about most. In addition, all Sprudge Twenty honorees past and present are eligible for mentorship, educational, and promotional opportunities through Sprudge and Pacific Foods Barista Series, including some really special stuff we’ll be announcing shortly in advance of the 2020 Specialty Coffee Association Expo in Portland, Oregon.
