Seattle in the fall is already impossibly lovely; the crisp sea air, the long evenings of auburn haze and thin light, and those mountains, the Cascades and the Olympics, popping out of control to the East and West of you like a mountainous autumnal fantasia. It’s a truly stunning place.

Add to that list of lovely the September soft opening of Andrew Milstead & Co., a brand new endeavor from all around great guy and competition level barista Andrew Milstead (winner of the coveted Millrock Latte Art Oversized Novelty Check). Visitors on opening day should expect some seriously sweet custom gear from La Marzocco USA and a rotating menu of Stumptown, Intelligentsia and Coava coffees, making them the first in Seattle to regularly serve Coava (undoubtedly among Portland’s finest boutique microroasters). Best of all, Milstead & Co. will be located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, long considered a dead zone or at best a museum for the coffee au courant. Their location at 770 N. 34th Street is within easy cookie-to-go strolling distance of the famed Fremont Troll.

We’re really happy for you Andrew, and for the ongoing elevation of the Seattle specialty coffee scene. Follow Milstead & Co. on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.
