Truly we are living in the golden age of signature drinks, a cavalcade of remarkable concoctions given pride of place on cafe menus all across this coffee-loving planet. But if you don’t mind, allow one brief gentle critique: where’s the glitter at? Edible glitter is *everywhere* in the sweet treat world—just check social media—but when it comes to coffee drinks, things aren’t nearly as shiny and sparkly as they could stand to be. More glitter, we say! It should look like a unicorn exploded when I order my favorite flavored coffee treat.
Thankfully the good folk at Kindness & Mischief in LA’s Highland Park get it. The cafe has continued to be one of East LA’s finest coffee bars (profiled on Sprudge first in 2016), and now they’ve got a super-special, extremely sparkly signature drink that’s perfect for this edition of On The Menu.

Tell us about your signature drink!
Our sparkling (literally, edible glitter!) ode to Spring: a delicate lavender and rose syrup made in-house, with espresso, tonic, and garnished with rose petals.
Who crafted your signature drink?
The team and I workshop all our drinks together. We really wanted a floral drink for our Spring menu, but something more than just lavender!
What unique ingredients does it contain?
lavender, rose, and edible glitter.
Is your signature drink served in a particular vessel? How did you make this choice?
Not at the moment since everything is still to-go.

Anything else you’d like to share about the drink?
This might be one of the prettiest drink we’ve made. I love the color combo with the light purple-blue hue the syrup makes the tonic combined with the pink rose petals!
