SUMMARY:The Art of Espresso Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:“Passione italiana: l’arte dell’espresso” (Italian Passion: the Art of Espresso) focuses on one of the world’s most beloved symbols of Italy: espresso coffee. \nThe objects on display include domestic and bar machines as well as coffee sets and cups by renowned designers\, analysing the social significance of the world’s most-consumed brew through the places and domestic rituals that have shaped the collective imagination and habits over the past century. \nThe exhibition has the double aim to recount the evolution of design and technology surrounding coffee and to trace the history of its integration in South America since its origin\, coinciding with the surge of Italian emigration to Brazil in 1874\, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

SUMMARY:Coffee Canelé Popup at The Caffè by Mr. Espresso
DESCRIPTION:The Caffè by Mr. Espresso in downtown Oakland is hosting a special canelé pop-up with Chef Phil Saneski\, founder of The Canelé Co. \nChef Phil is passionate about canelés and vegetable-inspired pastry techniques. His upcycled and vegetable-inspired recipes have been featured in Bon Appetit\, Travel+Leisure\, and Culinology®  magazines. \n“Beyond making canelés in fine-dining restaurants and bakeries where I worked\, my earliest memories of canelés always revolved around having really good coffee to pair with it. I associate the highest quality coffee with the experience of eating canelés\, which is why we were inspired by The Caffé to make a coffee canelé flight to highlight different roasts and coffee origins by Mr. Espresso\,” said Saneski. “Additionally\, we made Tiger Tea canelés that were inspired by the popular drink at The Caffé\, and added sweet potatoes as our unique twist.” \nThe following canelé flavors will be available at The Caffè during the pop-up: \n\nMr. Espresso canelé flight box of canelés made using three Mr. Espresso coffees: Ethiopia Sulladjah Washed (light roast)\, Tuscan Espresso Blend (medium roast)\, and Organic Dark Roast Guatemala (dark roast). | $16/flight of three\nRed Bell Pepper canelé | $5 each\nUbe canelé | $5 each\nTiger Tea Sweet Potato canelé | $5 each\n\nIn addition\, 10% of the total canelé proceeds will go to Oakland-based Community Kitchens\, which helps provide meals for marginalized communities.
