Coffee in Atlanta remains an ongoing source of inspiration and delight here in 2026. One of America’s great cultural and culinary capitals has a coffee scene to match, and now here in the waning days of the Build-Outs of Coffee feature series, we’re taking a closer look at a brand new coffee bar off Buford Highway somewhere between Brookhaven and Doraville.

The 2026 Build-outs of Coffee is presented by DONA, Pacific Barista Series, and La Marzocco.

As told to Sprudge by Clinton Perry.

For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?

With pleasure! I have dreamt of having a coffee and floral shop since I was in high school, 2001-2005. My mother was single with many children, and as the youngest I was watched and raised by my grandmothers, who is the inspiration behind my brand, Stellow. Stell is my grandmother Sammie’s Irish middle name, and the “ow” is inspired by my grandmother Betty who was known for her love of the color yellow, especially with her flowers. After serving Atlanta for seven years with an espresso bar service, that is still going strong, we opened our first coffee house in Chamblee, GA. It is graced with many memories of my grandmothers, but built to feel bright, but approachable, mid century, but welcoming. Our pride and joy lyes in our culture and our team, who this wonderful community adore so much.

Can you tell us a bit about the new space?

Happily! No stone went unturned and no aspect of the shop designed without meaning. If it made its way into the shop, it went through what I call the “Grandmother Filter.” It must remind me of them… from our custom tiles made by one of our friends/baristas, to the colors, the curtains, the chairs, the photos, and the bathrooms, its all ripples of the memories I had of them. Its a place built for connection and memories, and place founded in love. Our artisan coffee is to write home about, and if you fancy a beautifully designed space its the spot for you, but the poeple are what makes Stellow, Stellow.

What’s your approach to coffee?

Great choice of words! We want it to be approachable and educational, traditional but also have something fun with our specialty seasonal drinks. From our ceremonial grade matcha, to our Blue Matcha, to our hot cocoa, and on to our traditional cappuccino, latte, cortado, flat whites, everything is made with the flavor of coffee in mind. All our syrups are made in house from scratch, and our beans fresh from local roaster.

Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?

Yes! we use all La Marzocco. Custom built, painted and designed Strada three-grouphead, white with walnut accents. Then our La Marzocco Swan grinder, which is the best thing to hit the market in the world of grinders. We also use Modbar items, such as our pour-over, that is rotating with seasonal single origins.

How is your project considering sustainability?

We donate all our grounds and we use biodegradable cups.

What’s your hopeful target opening date/month?

We opened April 24th, 2026!
