Another day, another pair of coffee-inspired sneakers I can’t have. Or can I? This latest installment in a frankly all-too-long list comes via Adidas collaborating with Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, more popularly known as Bad Bunny, a Grammy winner, arguably the biggest name in music right now, Corona (the beer) aficionado, and now, a sneaker designer.

As reported by Teen Vogue, the new sneaker is the first in what Adidas calls a “long-term partnership that will see us work on a number of collaborative projects and product drops over the coming seasons.” The sneaker, known as “The First Café” applies a coffee-inspired colorway to Adidas’s Forum Buckle Low silhouette. Based on the Puerto Rican artist’s love of coffee, the The First Café features a leather and suede upper rich in cream, brown, and tan, with “two sets of interchangeable, overlapping tongues,” per Sneaker News, one with Bad Bunny’s signature eye logo and the other Adidas’s trefoil in blue. The new design also includes lace locks on the heel, a sneaky bunny logo on the underside of the sole, and “Yo Visto Asi” (translated in English to “I dress like this”) emblazoned across the ankle strap, a nod to a single of the artist’s 2020 album, El Último Tour Del Mundo.

The larger profile of the sneaker is reminiscent of skate shoes from the late-90s/early-00s (before Osiris came along and said, “hold my beer”) and indeed their first sneaky appearance came in the Yo Visto Asi music video, much of which takes place in a skate park. But perhaps the best part about The First Café sneakers is that you can actually get your hands on a pair, like, right now. Released yesterday, March 17th, the Bad Bunny collab shoe is available exclusively through the Adidas Confirmed app, retailing for $160 (which makes you eligible for a free pack of Adidas facemask, which I actually wear every day and are some of my favorite, I must say).
