Maybe itโ€™s the cabin fever or maybe itโ€™s the longing for the normalcy of The Before Times, but folksโ€”ourselves includedโ€”canโ€™t get enough of all the virtual coffee competition content that has been created during the pandemic. Put on headphones and squint your eyes just so and but for a brief second you may actually think youโ€™re packed like sardines inside a cafe or convention center watching live and in person some of the most talented coffee professionals doing what they do best. And today on Sprudge, we are featuring twoโ€”count โ€˜em two!โ€”different online coffee competitions of sorts gracing your internet airwaves. First up coming down the pipe next week is Season Two of the World Coffee Championships All-Stars.

Starting Tuesday, October 20th, the WCC All-Stars is back for another round of virtual performances. Though not as well-known Stateside, All-Stars is a wildly popular event, particularly in China, where competition alum put the apron back on one more time to show off their skills. Now all digital, All-Stars is going worldwide with an international roster of World Coffee Champions and Finalists. In the new format, each week on Tuesday a new competitor will perform their comp routine, followed by an Instagram Live conversation that Thursday.

The previous season includes big name competitors like 2018 and 2019 WCIGS Champion Dan Fellows, 2019 WBC Finalist Mikael Jasin, and 2016 WCIGS Champion and 2019 WBC Finalist Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, and Season Two looks to be just as star studded. The schedule for Season Two includes:

October 20th/22nd: Irvine Quek, 2019 World Latte Art Champion
October 27th/29th: Du Jianing, 2019 World Brewers Cup Champion
November 2nd/5th: Lem Butler, 2016 World Barista Championship Finalist
November 10th/12th: Hugh Kelly, 2017 World Barista Championship Finalist
November 17th/19th: Tetiana Tarykina, 2019 World Cezve/Ibrik Championship Finalist
November 24th/26th: Jacky Lai, 2014 World Coffee Roasting Champion

And the best part about All-Stars this year is that it’s completely free to watch! To register, follow the link above for the associated All-Stars event and sign-up.
