While the event itself might be totally sold out, TEDxConcordiaUPortland is looking for a few good coffee volunteers to assist with the first-ever public coffee service of Central City Coffee, the new social impact roaster from Central City Concern and Marcus Young. Folks will be tasked with brewing and helping to lead a variety of demos and activities for the assembled. There’s a pretty incredible list of speakers on the docket, and folks who volunteer will definitely have a chance to check out a few of the talks.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxConcordiaUPortland, where x=independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxConcordiaUPortland event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Convergence provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

There’s tons more info about TEDxConcordia via their fun-to-read blog.
