Jawbone, the makers of popular mobile speakers and health-monitoring devices, have come out with a brand new app called “UP Coffee,” a companion to their line of UP products centered on health. We tested the free app andย love it.ย It’s brutally simple–by using your body’s metrics and general caffeine doses, it will tell you how edgy your body should feel and when you can expect to get to sleep–letting you stay in peak happiness and coffee drinking health.

More info from Jawbone:

Behind its delightful design, Jawboneโ€™s world-class data scientists crunch numbers so you can learn about your bodyโ€™s reaction to caffeineโ€”without becoming jittery or disrupting your sleep.

Pair with UP by Jawbone to find out if afternoon pick-me-ups keep you awake at night, by how much, and what you can do to sleep more soundly. Donโ€™t have an UP band? No problem. UP Coffee is for all.

At 11:30am, after a cup of coffee, a double espresso, and an americano, the app assumes that I won’t get to bed until 1:46am – which probably isn’t far off. But let’s be real for a second, the espressos we’re drinking aren’t highly regulated, and I doubt every double shot single origin espresso contains the same amount of caffeine.

The app’s database however provides cut-and-dry standards for caffeine content. “Double shot = 150mg caffeine.”

The technology is in its infancy, and Jawbone claims they will use the information they gather from their users to build a stronger, more reliable app. Jawbone alsoย claims to take a strong stance on privacy, so hopefully they won’t share that information with third-party advertisers so they can use it to sell you more 5 Hour Energy drinks.

One of our favorite features of the new app:

Isn’t that cute?ย Can Jawbone make a version for cocktails?ย

UP Coffee is available at the Apple Appstore, is free, and hilarious.
