As our 2015 Build-Outs Of Summer series rolls on, we’re headed to the small city of Alpine, Texas, located just outside Big Bend National Park, some 400 miles west of San Antonio.ย This is where the folks at Cedar Coffee Supply have set up shop, serving Texas-roasted coffee on an American-made Slayer Espresso machine.

As told to Sprudge by Andrew Daniels.

For those who aren’t familiar, will you tell us about your company?

Cedar Coffee Supply is a specialty coffee shop located in the last frontier of Texas. The Big Bend area has been a tourist destination for many years. Alpine is the metropolis of the Big Bend area, being the largest town out of the 5-6 distinct spots including Marfa, Fort Davis & Marathon, Texas.

We believe that every cup is special, whether it be a pour-over or a shot of espresso, and we prepare each drink to order. The roasters that we have opened with are Brown Coffee Co. from San Antonio, Texas & Novel Coffee Roasters from Dallas, Texas.

Any machines, coffees, special equipment lined up?

For equipment, we have a handmade white 2-group Slayer Espresso machine with custom white oak wood accents. Our espresso grinder is a Mahlkรถnig K30, accompanied by a Baratza Vario for filter coffees.
