Hiroshi Sawada, the international latte art champion who famously donated his prize winnings to Coffee Kids, the man who travels with a latte art entourage, has opened the Barista Pro Shop in Japan. Co-branded with his company Streamer Coffee Company and Espresso Parts, the shop will offer equipment and support to coffee brewers in Tokyo.

If you’re not unfamiliar with the espresso supplies pro shop model, they’re a positively divine concept. Brick and mortar locations like the Joe Pro Shop in NYC offering a delightful selection of custom tampers, pitchers, and other assorted coffee shit you usually just can’t find at Sur La Table.

The EP/Streamer Pro Shopย official announcement is available in Japanese, and we’ve attempted to translate it via Google Translate.

Sawada is the 2008 Millrock Latte Art Champion, a Barista Trainer and Consultant for Streamer Coffee Company, and is “the first world champion in human history to score the highest in Asia”, according to our shoddy Google Translate look at his website.

This Tokyo pro shop has been a longtime collaboration project between Hiroshi and the team at Espresso Parts, and so a sincere congratulations to Hiroshi, Streamer, and everyone involved!
