Sprudge Sunday Magazine Issue #17 – Anne Lunell, WIC

sprudge-magazine

December 26th-31th, Sprudge.com is revisiting some of our favorite stories from the very exciting past year in coffee. Enjoy!

In the tradition of the Onion’s Sunday Magazine, welcome to Sprudge Sunday Magazine – “Specialty Coffee’s Cover Page.”

For issue #17 of Sprudge Sunday Magazine, we were inspired by the coffee industry trade publication Barista Magazine (2009/2010 Sprudgie Award winners) and their landmark “Coffee Women of the Pacific Northwest” cover from 2012, shot by Mastin Studio. Our cover star this week is head Swedish WIC Anne Lunell, who graciously volunteered her time and image after confiding in us that she was deeply inspired, both professionally and personally, by the BMag cover last year.

Ms. Lunell is a Swedish barista champion and the visionary behind Koppi, an internationally respected and well-loved coffee roaster in the Swedish town of Helsingborg. We reached out to Anne to appear on her first Sprudge Sunday Magazine cover in celebration of Koppi’s brand new Stockholm pop-up shop, lovingly profiled here by Dear Coffee, I Love You. Here’s some more of Anne’s brave, inspiring, amazing photography, shot by the talented Christoffer Erneholm somewhere in the Swedish outdoors.

So brave, so bold. To you, Anne Lunell, and to WIC everywhere, we lift our hands and give you a hearty applause.
