Los Angeles based Intelligentsia-type Ryan Willbur is in New York City, and boy, he’s sure got a lot to say. I was just in New York myself, and I can’t understand why Willbur would have such a bug up his butt over the service at certain establishments. I know a thing or two about opinionated people; my current wife is so goddamned opinionated about every which topic under the sun and heaven. She doesn’t blog about it though, but I wish she would, instead of whinin’ and moanin’ to every therapist in the Twin Falls area at $100 an hour. Imagine, her draggin’ me along instead of letting me watch the Monday Night Football! Maybe her and Ryan Willbur can go to church together next Sunday, so I can have some peace and freakin’ quiet for once in my life during Wild Card week. Know what I’m saying? – Carl Mundy, guest blogger.

We wandered up to the Ninth Street bar and I ordered an espresso. The espresso was solid. Very consistent to what I had tasted the night I arrived at the original store (9th & C). However, the experience was a bit lacking. The baristas seemed to have no desire to engage the customers. That topped with the way my espresso was slammed onto the saucer and sorta shoved my way, I just expected more. It’s not that anything tasted bad, but everything I had heard about New York had pinned these guys as the best. Once again, not bad, but underwhelming.
